Crystalplex Quantum Dots: Alloyed Nanocrystal Technology

Unlike standard Quantum Dots, the color of our quantum dots is tuned by composition rather than size. Our Quantum Dots: are equivalent in size (5.5nm) and mass regardless of emission color. All colors are equally bright and have comparable quantum efficiency throughout the visible spectrum. Our Quantum Dots are inherently stable as single semiconductor nanocrystals in biological solutions and intracellular environments. This allows for comparable fluorescence and molecular kinetics across all colors for biological conjugates. Their small size ( = 10nm including the hydration sphere ) allows for enhanced loading into cells. Our Quantum Dots can be autoclaved in media prior to cell loading.

Crystalplex Trilite™ Alloyed Semiconductor Nanocrystals

Trilite™ Semiconductor Nanocrystals are made from a composition tunable cadmium, selenium and sulfur core.

Our proprietary surface passivation and ligand technology isolates the core from O₂ and harmful ions that can degrade quantum dot performance over time.

• Available in emission colors from 420nm to 685nm
• Stable in all buffers (including PO₄) and 160 mm ionic strength
• Stable in the intracellular environment
• Available with -COOH, -OH or NH₃ surface functionality

Crystalplex Trilite™ PlxBeads

PlxBeads are acrylic beads encoded with Trilite™ nanocrystals. Our proprietary method encodes QDs beneath the surface for beads in the 5-20 µm range. Smaller beads are encoded by surface binding.
