Crystalplex quantum dots are highly efficient down-converting nanophosphors. They can be dispersed in polymer encapsulant formulations and applied to blue or UV LED chips using conventional packaging processes. TriLite™ QDs can be tuned throughout the visible spectrum and emit when illuminated by a shorter wavelength source.
For display backlighting applications, TriLite™ QDs achieve a larger gamut with more saturated colors and hence a greater color richness than can be achieved with conventional phosphor technology. For general lighting applications, RGB white light can be achieved with any desirable hue from a soft incandescent bulb or candle appearance to a halogen-like bluish tint.
